Hi! I’m Thea, and I am currently a junior at the University of Washington Honors Program, pursuing a major in Informatics with a focus on Data Science.
What draws me to Informatics is its expansive nature - it's a field where technology, human behavior, and social impact intersect in countless ways, offering endless possibilities for meaningful work. I am passionate about designing interfaces that reduce user burden while creating positive societal change. I believe that thoughtful design can make complex systems more accessible, empowering people to engage with information that is important to them.
As a student interested in UX, game design, and art, I aim to use my skills to create intuitive and engaging experiences by understanding and advocating for users' needs. My goal is to design accessible, inclusive solutions that empower vulnerable populations and raise awareness through impactful, meaningful projects. I'm particularly interested in leveraging my design expertise to explore the intersection of game development and climate justice education. I aspire to continue learning how to build beautiful environments, worlds, characters, and dynamics that captivate users and inspire them to engage deeply with meaningful stories and causes.

Here is a picture of me and some of my classmates at Unreal Fest Seattle (Fall of 2024). At Unreal Fest, I had the incredible opportunity to connect with developers, artists, and innovators from across the interactive 3D community. I attended hands-on workshops, learned about the latest features in Unreal Engine, and gained insights into real-time workflows used in games, virtual production, and immersive experiences.

↑ An environment on UEFN that I built for an honors assignment - writing documentation for a game & creating environments/characters. Here is the link to the documentation: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Cc5U-BGJa8igIDNwCnibUsaYOSMvPeUt0lBOZePijCw/edit?usp=sharing
← This is a page from a zine highlighting the intersection of being queer and Asian. I designed this page in Canva and did the art in Procreate.
↑ This is a character I created for the game I mentioned above - I used Nomad for the 3D version of the rendered 2D Procreate.
← “Accessipal” is an app I helped design during a hackathon. It is a crowd-sourced campus accessibility app that empowers users to report facility issues in real time - supporting inclusive, responsive, and equitable campus maintenance.
This is a mural I helped create as a final project on a Design for America team. It documents the preservation of memories in families with immigrant relatives. ↓
